How does Grape Seed Extract
work?
As a super antioxidant, Grape Seed Extract protects the body from the damaging effects of free radicals. Free radicals, or oxidants, are highly reactive molecules that damage cell membranes and destroy DNA. Free radicals are produced by smoking, environmental toxins, exercising and even the body's normal process of metabolizing the air we breathe and the food we eat, and are believed to be a root cause of many chronic and degenerative diseases such as cancer, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and the aging process. The polyphenols in Grape Seed Extract work by neutralizing free radicals to help prevent the damage they cause.
Research shows that InterHealth's Grape Seed Extract contains unique antioxidants that promote cardiovascular health and help prevent the effects of premature aging. Its high levels of oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) have been shown to protect cells against drug and chemical toxicity, environmental pollutants, exposure to UV sun rays, as well as physical, psychological and emotional stress.
Grape Seed Extract also promotes healthy microcirculation.*

How is Grape Seed Extract
different?
Grape Seed Extract is made by a proprietary water and alcohol manufacturing process, which eliminates the need for toxic solvents typically used in the manufacturing of other grape seed extracts. Thus,
Grape Seed Extract contains no residual toxic solvents, making it completely safe to consume and environmentally friendly to produce.
Grape Seed Extract is also, by far, the most widely researched grape seed extract on the market. As the focus of more than 100 research presentations, publications and abstracts,
Grape Seed Extract is supported by original, independent university studies that prove its safety and efficacy.
Independent analysis has shown that Grape Seed Extract is distinctly different from other grape seed extracts on the market, and actually contains greater amounts of OPCs than other leading brands. In addition,
Grape Seed Extract contains other beneficial, naturally occurring flavonoids such as ferulic acid and quercetin.

How much Grape Seed Extract
should I take?
The recommended adult daily dosage is 50 to 100 milligrams, although up to 200 milligrams per day split into 2 doses of 100 milligrams each is a safe and effective dose.
Grape Seed Extract should be taken with meals. For additional information on dosing, follow manufacturer's recommended use printed on the label, and/or talk to your healthcare professional.

Are there any precautions?
OPCs found in Grape Seed Extract may have some anticoagulant (an agent that prevents or retards the clotting of blood) properties when taken in high doses. Individuals on blood-thinner drugs such as Coumadin (warfarin), heparin, Trental (pentoxifylline) and aspirin should take high doses of
Grape Seed Extract only under medical supervision, as high doses of OPCs might cause excessive bleeding. Maximum safe dosages for young children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with severe liver or kidney disease have not been established.

Where can I buy
Grape Seed Extract?
Grape Seed Extract is a nutritional ingredient available in a wide variety of dietary supplements and nutraceutical food and beverage products. Most products can be found at your local health food store; otherwise you can order directly from the manufacturer.
