Active Ingredient in Protykin® Absorbed in Biologically Active Quantities

Researchers at the University of Toronto found that the principal phytoestrogen in Protykin® was absorbed in biologically active quantities when consumed as part of a phytoestrogen-enriched grape juice. Sufficient amounts were absorbed to cause a reduction in blood parameters associated with heart disease, suggesting a reduction in subjects’ risk for heart disease. Study subjects consumed red wine, white wine, grape juice and grape juice with phytoestrogens daily for 4 weeks each.
