Reduction in Antibody Titres May Help Identify Type II Collagen (UC-II™) Responders
In a second German study, 1 mg and 10 mg doses of undenatured type II collagen resulted in reduced type II collagen antibody titres, but only in those patients showing a clinical response. The double-blind placebo-controlled randomized study showed that the 10 mg dose level was more effective than the 1 mg dose level. The data suggests that a titre drop may be a useful indicator for identifying those patients who respond to this form of treatment and that the drop may be a valid parameter for detecting the impact of the treatment on the immune system
