Strange but True Health Tips for Your Clients

Some clients will claim that they’ve heard all of the health tips in the book, or rather on the internet. Others may simply lose interest in their fitness regime. For either group of people, we’ve got a solution for you! Seek health and wellness tips that are outside of the box to share with your customer base. The shocking, surprising, and just plain odd ideas will refocus them back on their personal goals, whether it be weight management or cardiovascular support.

Need somewhere to start? Keep these strange but true fitness factoids on hand for your next client interaction!

  • Drink Coffee for a Super Nap – Drinking 1-2 cups of coffee directly before a 20-minute nap actually increases the effectiveness of the nap. A nap clears out a molecule in the brain called Adenosine, and the coffee kicks in to block further Adenosine. In the end, you are more alert and refreshed, able to knock out big projects or take on that after-work exercise program.
  • Eat More to Eat Less – This method seems contradictory, but it’s very effective to know. Snacks or smaller meals in general can simply tease the body and result in a less satisfied feeling. If your snack is carbs, they can even induce hunger. Instead, try a small snack of fat and protein that’ll keep you feeling full.
  • Gaining Muscle Helps Your Jeans Fit – Going down a jean size may not require losing weight. In fact, you could potentially gain weight and fit into a smaller size. The key is weight lifting. A pound of fat takes up more room than a pound of muscle.
  • Drink Water When Bloated – A high fiber diet or lack of water can make you bloated. Both of these are solved with a few extra glasses of water, to either help your body process the fiber or release water being held.
  • Ditch Diet Soda and Low-Fat Foods – Food and beverages that claim to reduce a component like sugar or fat often increase another component to make up for it. They can end up tricking you into thinking you can consume more, which can disrupt your weight management goals.
  • Exercise When Tired – Exercise after a long day may be the last thing you want to do, but it can actually energize you. Next time work has been taxing or you feel like you want to plop down on the sofa, get up and get moving!

As a bonus tip, suggest Protykin® for clients looking for a healthy aging supplement. Or stock products containing Protykin®, which contains an extract that gives antioxidant support.
